To check the
Object files you currently have installed in
your K2600, go to the MASTER mode and look at
what appears for Intonation Tables 18-23. You
may or may not have entries for all 6 locations
depending on your current ROM Block
configuration.
- IMPORTANT-
Understanding Object Files and Options
All K2600 units
have at least ONE Object file installed at all
times, referred to as the "BASE ROM" object
file. This file constitutes the basic factory
object set found in all K2600 models.
If a K2600 has
any of the 5 additional ROM Block Options (Orchestral,
Contemporary,
Stereo Dynamic Piano,
Vintage Electric Piano and/or
General MIDI) or the
Sampling option added to it, then additional
Object files must also be installed. These are
referred to as "ROM OPTION" objects. (Once
installed, these too will show up as separate
Object Files in the Intonation Table listing).
Whenever
updating your K2600 Objects :
- Be sure to
install ALL necessary Object files that
correspond to your units physical
configuration, meaning Base objects as well
as any applicable Option objects.
- Only
install option object files for those
options you have physically installed.
CURRENT BASE
ROM OBJECTS
The most recent
set of Base Object files (v4) for the K2600 are
a special set of factory programs and setups
that are being called "The Best of V.A.S.T." (BOV).
It gathers together 200 of the finest programs
ever created for the K2000, K2500, and K2600
along with other useful objects such as "groove"
setups.
Please read
"System Requirements" before downloading and
installing.
System
Requirements for v4 (Best of VAST) Base Objects
- Any
K2600/2600X/2600R

K26 OS v4.00 or better.

Orchestral and
Contemporary ROM Blocks installed
IMPORTANT!
Be aware that in installing the v4 (Best of
VAST) Base Objects, you will be replacing the
original K2600 Factory Presets with NEW
Programs, Setups, ROM Songs, etc. If you do NOT
wish to replace your original factory presets
(or if you do not have BOTH the Orchestral ROM
and the Contemporary ROM installed), then DO NOT
USE these new v4 Objects. Instead continue to
use the older
v3.00 Base Objects.
NOTE: Since the
Orchestral and Contemporary Objects are now
included within the Best of VAST v4.04 base
objects so there is no need to install those
option files separately if you are going to use
the v4.04 Base Objects.

CURRENT ROM
OPTION OBJECTS
If your K2600
also has any optional ROM Blocks installed,
and/or if you want to use Live Mode, you will
need to install the corresponding Option Object
File(s) to match. This is in addition to
whatever Base Object file you choose to use. So
for each additional ROM block you have
physically installed you will need to download
and install that corresponding Object file as
well. Instructions on how to install your
object files can be found in your manual as well
as in the READ ME that accompanies the BASE
Objects download files. |
