EMES is the first studio monitor manufacturer who designs studio monitor systems for the professional using the Embracing Sound Experience technology. The Swedish company Embracing Sound Experience AB developed a stereo reproduction system, that allows us to build a single system which is capable to reproduce any stereo image while avoiding the week behaviour of standard stereo configurations! 
This highly revolutionary concept has a new approach to the acoustical crosstalk problem (the fact that the left ear hears the right speaker and vice versa) to achieve a high resolution stereo image set for the high resolution digital media available today.

The "OWL active" is designed as a stereo near field system for any pro application at listening distances from 100 - 350cm. The systems comes with all necessary functions for a handsome use. Level control, bass correction and tweeter level correction. The electronic is build in a complete channel separated way to get the highest imaging quality possible. All driver components are messured twice and matched with a max. tolerance of ± 0.2 dB!!

All EMES active monitors are shipped with individual fc diagrams that shows the fc response of L and R channel and the difference between them.

An OWL-System easily substitutes a complete front channel configuration (L/C/R) in surround sound set up.

The OWL is a 2 channel 2 way system using a bass reflex design. All drivers are selfpowered by identical amplifier types which are equal in their performance (4 x 100W rms). A very short (20mm length) biradial horn array is used in front of the tweeters to optimize the x-over point, reducing distortion to an extrem low value and to optain the smoothest polarpattern possible, because the ESE patent we are using is very sensitive to unprecise engineering !! As an option we offer the s.c. "Acoustic Wings™", which lenghten the speaker front. This results in an even more wider listening area if needed. As woofer/midrange driver we use a modified carbon-paper membrane driver of europes leading high Q driver manufacturer. It's the most non coloring chassis we ever had in hand, because a woofer that has to be still perfect at 1 kHz is quite a challenge! The most critical part in the OWL-System are the tweeters, because they have to be very small in size to mount them as close as possible. On the other side this devices have to generate frequencies lower than 1 kHz!!
Two complete separated channel stripes are used to keep the electronic crosstalk to a minimum Each of these have identical amplifier - this means the tweeter has the same amount of power in the back as the woofer. A design feature that we never want to miss, because distortion created by different designs or varying power output is not what we want! Our s.c. "quick delivery" - digital power- supplies is build with the same goal in mind it works 2.000 times faster as analog one's and are way less heavy in weight. On the back you will find 16 step dips for the input sensitivity, for low fc control (-6 to + 4 dB), and the hf-section (-4 to +4 dB.
