Tube Recording Channel

your music is inimitable - your sound should be as well

With the Tube Recording Channel, within one device you get all the features you need to record microphone signals and instruments in perfect sound quality. Optimised for use with computer systems (hard disk recording) it also delivers best quality in analogue environments.

The Microphone Input is equipped with a high-quality input transformer, 48 V phantom power, low cut filter and phase reverse. Additionally, there is a low noise, high impedance Instrument Input which is optimised for connecting instrument pick-ups. Because of the maximal input level of +4db you can easily connect keyboards, samplers and comparable instruments. Both inputs can be directly used through the Neutrik- Combo-Jack on the front panel. And alternatively, there is a microphone input on the rear of the device.

The 3-Band-EQ has been realised with a very complex, passive circuit. The single filters are arranged in serial and influence each other so that you can achieve very musical changes to your sound. One subsequent tube stage readjusts the level after processing.

The Compressor is based on the established electro-optical circuitry with a very smooth characteristic. With only one control (Gain Reduction) you can manage the whole processing. The signal gets compressed in an unobtrusive way without losing transparency, depth and vitality. With it, subsequent A/D-converters can be balanced perfectly so you don΄t have to abdicate a single bit of resolution. With the switch able VU-Meter you can control the signal at any important point of information flow. And the final output stage with tube/transformer offers further options for sound modelling.

Variable Feedback

The feedback in amplification stages is responsible for the adjustment of the linear frequency response in an active circuit. It affects the complete characteristic, frequency response, phase and the dynamic attitude. With the GAIN-controller you have the unique possibility to verify this feedback within the Tube Recording Channel. In normal case (is there actually something like this?) you set this controller on “5” and work in a linear range. Settings from “0” to “3” create a smooth and friendly sound. In the range between “7” and “10”, sound characteristics change explicitly: articulate contours, tight basses and clear heights come to the fore.
