mix life into
your recordings
With the
Tube
Summing Mixer
you can mix up to 16 analogue stereo signals onto one stereo
bus. Combined with a digital system you can enjoy the
benefits of both worlds: comfort and various editing
opportunities of digital systems conjoined with the sound
quality and unique sound of the big analogue mixing
consoles.
So you donīt
have to forbear from the way you are used to work. While
summing you play out the signals with fully digital
resolution, and then you leave the mixing job to your
Tube
Summing Mixer.
Realising an
extremely high-quality analogue circuit was possible by
focussing on the basics. The final output stage with tube
and transformer gives the stereo signal additional identity.
The
Tube Summing
Mixer
provides you with 16 stereo inputs with balanced Neutrik
instrument jacks. If you only use the left input the signal
will be switched to mono automatically. Thus you can
position signals by 100 % if they only appear in the stereo
center.
External
keyboards and samplers donīt have to go through your
computer and can be directly mixed with your analogue
summing unit. If necessary, several units can be connected
in order to get additional inputs.
Benefits of
analog summing
Nowadays digital audio workstations (DAW) are regulars in
modern sound studios. Actually nobody wants to give up the
accustomed comfort and all the editing opportunities
(Plug-Ins, cutting, editing). Unfortunately, there is a
problem which should not be undervalued: Single signals
sound great for themselves but often they lose their
identity during the internal computer mixdown. The stereo
mix sounds indifferent, spongy and the desired spatiality is
missing.
Exactly at
this point analogue circuitry shows its benefits. Signals
get mixed without any hassle in terms of resolution, phase
or latency. Thus the mix wins transparency and spacious
depth. Stereo locating is improving and single instruments are
getting clearer again. Additionally, you have the option to
connect analogue equipment into the signal flow for further
processing.
